Whether you’re looking to drop in for a shared sauna session or prefer to book a private time slot, you’re warmly welcome at our sauna in Ål.

The sauna is located at Oppsjø Vasspark Ål, right by Ål Idrettspark. Parking is available at Bråta (address: Ål Idrettspark 1). From there, it’s about a 500-meter walk along a gravel path. In winter, please walk alongside the cross-country skiing trail.

Oppsjø Vasspark is a public outdoor recreation area that includes a swimming facility, sauna, a cabin, restrooms, and a BUA rental hub for water activities.
We kindly ask all sauna guests to be mindful of other groups using the area and facilities.

How to book the Sauna

To enjoy the sauna, you can either attend a communal sauna session or book a private 2 hrs sauna. The public sauna sessions are for drop ins, and there’s no pre-booking. Cost: 60 kroners per session. Please see our weekly calendar for days and times.

If you want to have the sauna to yourself, you have to book in advance via our booking platform Gibbs. Once your booking is confirmed, you’ll receive an access code to the door by email and text message, as well as instructions for use.

The sauna comfortably fits up to 8 people.

Before You Arrive

A great sauna experience starts with good hygiene. Please make sure to shower before coming, and always sit on a towel whilst in the sauna. Bring your swimwear, two towels, and plenty of drinking water.

Changing facilities are available outside the sauna. Please do not change clothes inside the sauna room.

After Your Visit

Help us keep the sauna clean and welcoming for everyone. This includes:

  • Make sure the sauna door is properly closed when you leave.
  • Wipe up any water or sand from the floor after use.

If the sauna is left excessively dirty, a cleaning fee of NOK 950 may be charged.

Important safety notice

Using the public sauna and swimming in cold water, especially during winter, involves personal risk. By entering the sauna or bathing in cold water, you accept full responsibility for your own health and safety. Sudden temperature changes can affect circulation and breathing, and may pose risks for individuals with underlying conditions. Please assess your own physical condition before use and proceed with caution.
